Snapshot of a "SCOPEd" Graduate of DCA
SCOPE Groups are part of a unique mentoring system set up for M.S. and H.S. students. Students are grouped with peers of the same age and gender to meet weekly with an adult mentor to serve as a Godly model and facilitate constructive conversations. The aim of SCOPE groups are to encourage: Sharing, Christ-Centerd, Options, pursuing our Purpose, and Excelling!
"A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master" Mt. 10:24
In light of this scripture it is apparent that we as educators need to be ever more intentional about the positive interactions we have with our MS and HS students. If we cannot model a loving and Christ - filled social being for young people, they are at a severe disadvantage as Christians, moving into the "world" and trying to fulfill their purpose and God's direction in the Great Commission. Mission-focused action must trump good intentions. Our SCOPE groups provide the perfect environment to model Christ and foster growth spiritually and relationally. The following is what we pray for each student
